Becoming the Ocean

Dear Younger Me,

You are stronger than you know. You are so worthy of love and respect. Always trust your gut. Don’t let anyone treat you poorly or make you believe that you deserve to be treated badly. It is NEVER OK for anyone to yell at you, scare you, and make you feel like you are not worthy of love and respect.

You are so much more than just your body. Don’t let anyone define you or your worth by just your body. You are not a drop in the ocean; you are the ocean in a drop-Rumi.

Believe in yourself and know that you will achieve great things. You will travel the world and reach so many people. We will help so many people in need and you have a wonderful heart. One day, you will make all your dreams come true. All the hardships you face are just stepping stones to the life that you are dreaming of.

Guard yourself from people that want to take advantage of you and your family and are not honest. Stand up for yourself and your family. BE ASSERTIVE! Don’t let people walk all over you or your family. If something doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t! When in doubt, SPEAK UP!

Do not hold grudges for anyone in your family and love each and every one of them. They will not be around forever. You have such a short amount of time with them, don’t let it go to waste. Always be there for your loved ones and make sure you turn up in everyone’s time of need. Don’t abandon them when they need them most or you might regret it. Nurture your relationships with your family with love and care.

Always love yourself. Be your own best friend. Believe in yourself that you are so strong, you can overcome anything. All the love that you are giving out in the world will eventually come back to you. You will be hit by a tsunami of love one day, more love than you could ever even imagine.

Always remember that everyone in the world is really standing in one big circle so whatever you pass to the person next to you will one day come back to you.

Love,
your future self
