STUCK LIKE
I took the glue
from your fingers
In this circuitous fashion
I walked behind you
Pendulated between unsticking your fingers
from the popsicle igloo
And my phone that I somehow had not put down.
Now we were both covered in glue
What started as the end of a morning craft was now my
Afternoon
“This is fantastic’ you said with such eloquence,
I asked you to repeat it
You said this is fantastic
How the glue is stuck from me to you to your phone, in my hair with no end in sight
And i love you
I love how it holds us
I blinked and thought did he really
Say that
It wasn’t exactly possible and
You smiled and i smiled and i looked at the table
And your hair
And i forgot it was monday or that I had to work or that now
The dog was covered and it all just stopped.
