Worthy of love

My Name Means Worthy of Love
My name, they say, means worthy of love—
A gift from stars & skies above.
A name that whispers, soft and clear,
Amanda Jenae
"You are enough, you’re wanted here."
And yet I watched you chase the flame,
In empty arms that knew your name.

Mama did You gave your all? & then gave some more?
Still searching for a love unsure.
You held me close, but looked away,
Not evening knowing that it was your eyes that had been showing

Toward someone else, to the men who wouldn’t stay.
And though you poured your heart in two,
You never saved enough for you.
You named me what you hoped to be—
A mirror for the hurt you see.
You wrapped me in the dream you crave,
And called me what you couldn’t save.
Amanda Jenae, worthy of love.

But Mama, love is not a prize,
Not something earned with lowered eyes.
It’s not in hands that pull then part,
It lives, instead, inside your heart.
You gave me worth, you gave me truth,
You bore the weight, you bore your youth.

But now I hope you turn within,
To find the place love should begin.
For I am worthy, yes, it’s true—
But so, my mother, are you too.
